Norva (norvahome.store) uses cookies and similar technologies to run our store, understand how it is used, and show relevant advertising. This policy explains what we use, who sets it, and how you can control it.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember things like what is in your cart or whether you are signed in. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage, and we refer to all of them as "cookies" here.
How we use them
Strictly necessary. These keep the store working: holding your cart, processing checkout, keeping your session secure, preventing fraud, and remembering your cookie choices. They are set by Shopify, our ecommerce platform, and cannot be switched off.
Analytics and performance. These tell us which pages and products people visit so we can improve the store. They are set by Shopify's built-in analytics and by Google Analytics 4.
Marketing and advertising. These let us measure and target advertising. They include Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing, the Pinterest tag and Conversions API, and tools that help us send you relevant email and SMS marketing if you have signed up. Where you decline marketing cookies, Google Consent Mode limits these tools to measurement without identifiers.
Functional. These support order tracking and delivery updates through [shipment tracking provider], and remember preferences such as your country and currency.
How long cookies last
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period, typically from a few days up to two years depending on their purpose. Analytics and advertising cookies generally expire within 24 months.
Third parties and international transfers
Some cookies are set by companies we work with, including Shopify, Google, Pinterest and CWILL (ParcelPanel). Their own privacy policies govern how they use the data they collect.
Several of these companies are based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred internationally, it is done under the safeguards set out in Chapter V of the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your choices
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, or open Preferences to choose by category. Your choice is remembered in your browser for 7 days, after which we will ask again. You can change your mind at any time by reopening the banner from the link in our footer.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the store may not work properly if you block essential ones. If you are in a US state with applicable privacy laws, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information on our Your Privacy Choices page.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Irish ePrivacy Regulations you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and erasure. See our Privacy Policy for more, or contact us at support@norvahome.store. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Changes
We may update this policy as our tools change. Any update will be posted here with a new date.
