Description

A hand-painted black stoneware teapot carrying the classic "distant hill" motif — a few economical brushstrokes suggesting a mountain ridge, painted by hand onto a coarse dark clay body. It is a quiet piece of decoration on a functional object, which is exactly the tradition it comes from.

Four capacities are available, from a small 150ml pot for solo brewing up to 320ml for two or three. The coarse black clay holds heat well and develops a soft sheen with handling. It suits a Japandi, wabi-sabi or minimalist kitchen and works as well displayed on a shelf as it does in daily use.

Why you'll love it

  • Hand-painted distant hill motif — real brushwork, slightly different on every pot.
  • Four capacities — 150ml, 220ml, 290ml and 320ml.
  • Coarse black clay — heat-retaining, with a surface that improves with handling.
  • Built for kung fu brewing — compact body, clean spout, repeated infusions.
  • Display-worthy — a functional object that earns its shelf space.

Details

  • Capacities: approx. 150ml, 220ml, 290ml, 320ml
  • Material: coarse black ceramic, hand-painted
  • Designs: A, B, C, D
  • Style: Japanese kung fu, wabi-sabi, tea ceremony
  • Ideal for: kitchen and dining, tea ceremony, dining tables, tea houses and gifts

The 150ml is the connoisseur's size — small pots make better gongfu tea because the leaf-to-water ratio stays high through several short infusions.
