A hand-painted black stoneware teapot carrying the classic "distant hill" motif — a few economical brushstrokes suggesting a mountain ridge, painted by hand onto a coarse dark clay body. It is a quiet piece of decoration on a functional object, which is exactly the tradition it comes from.

Four capacities are available, from a small 150ml pot for solo brewing up to 320ml for two or three. The coarse black clay holds heat well and develops a soft sheen with handling. It suits a Japandi, wabi-sabi or minimalist kitchen and works as well displayed on a shelf as it does in daily use.
